    The reason it's doing this is when it get's unloaded it can get in a state where the villagers need to sleep for iron golems to spawn again. Once they've done that it will work in the day.

this infact works for 1.21.4 afked for about 4-5 hours and 2 out of 3 chest where filled up to the brim (3rd one was just unlucky with the iron droping on the hoppers)

i have built this basicly exactly on the survival server im on but only two of the 8 iron farms are working im trying to find away to fix that issue and all im mostly seeing is break the sight of the zombie and villager and let them sleep.

The villagers need to have slept before you’ll start seeing iron golems, after that it’ll work fine.

Works a dream, if pasting in creative you will need to add your own zombies and nametag them so they don't despawn. Adding more storage would be beneficial but not neccessarily required especially if your going to be sorting out the chests regulary. I definitely recommend this farm though, great build o7
